FEES & DEPOSITS


Camp Registration Fee:  $30.00 per child (includes camp T-shirt)

Camp Deposits:
 There is a $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit per week required to hold your spot.  This deposit will be applied to your weekly camp tuition.   Camp deposits and registration fees are due when you sign up for camp.  You may make changes to your selected weeks prior to June 4th.  However, any changes made after June 4th will incur a $10.00 fee per occurrence.  If you cancel or are absent any weeks after June 4th, your deposits and registration fees will be forfeited.  SCG accepts cash, check, and card only for payment.  
        
Weekly Rates: 
Single Day Rate:  $60.00 per child   * Extra fees will apply for Wednesday field trips.
There is a 10% discount for siblings.  If you pay in full for 5 or more weeks we will take an additional 5% off your camp tuition.
Weekly Tuition Payment Deadline: Your weekly tuition (minus deposit) is due by the Thursday before you attend camp each week.



CAMP GUIDELINES

All camp staff members are certified in CPR, first aid, and water safety.​​

Water bottles are required every day!

Please put your camper’s name on EVERYTHING! 

SCG and/or coaches are not responsible for lost items.

Snack will be provided once daily, but you are welcome and encouraged to pack extra, healthy snacks, in addition to their sack lunch. 


No sodas, candy, or gum are allowed at SCG Summer Sports Camp.


Please be sure to pack a sack lunch every day for your child, with the exception of some field trips.  Microwave ovens will not be available for warming lunches.


Earliest drop off is 7:30 a.m. and your child/children must be picked up by 6:30 p.m. Please note there is a late pick-up fee of $1 per minute after 6:30 p.m.   Payment for late pick-up is required upon arrival.


SCG’s sports camp has been designed to encourage physical activity through sports lessons and exercise.  Each camper is expected to participate in all scheduled activities.  In the event of illness or injury, a request can be made for an optional form of activity.


Camp schedule and field trips are subject to change due to weather.


All campers are divided into age groups for activities, and by skill level for swimming and gymnastics.


Age Groups:
5-6 years    Cubs
7-8 years    Jaguars
9-12 years    Tigers


Swim Levels:
Red – Very beginner swimmer; 2 ft to 3 ½ ft swimming area
Green – Good swimmer; 2 ft to 5 ½ ft swimming area (Swim Test is required)
Blue – Advanced swimmer; 2 ft to 12 ft swimming and diving area (Swim Test is Required)

Gymnastics Levels are based off of USA Gymnastics determination of levels using specific skills on each apparatus.


 
DISCIPLINE & GUIDANCE POLICY 

Discipline must be:
(1) Individualized and consistent for each child;
(2) Appropriate to the child’s level of understanding; and
(3) Directed toward teaching the child acceptable behavior and self-control.
    
A caregiver may only use positive methods of discipline and guidance that encourage self-esteem, self-control, and self-direction, which include at least the following:
(1) Using praise and encouragement of good behavior instead of focusing only upon unacceptable behavior;
(2) Reminding a child of behavior expectations daily by using clear, positive statements;
(3) Redirecting behavior using positive statements; and
(4) Using brief supervised separation or time out from the group, when appropriate for the child’s age and development, which is limited to no more than one minute per year of the child’s age.
There must be no harsh, cruel, or unusual treatment of any child.  The following types of discipline and guidance are prohibited:
(1) Corporal punishment or threats of corporal punishment;
(2) Punishment associated with food, naps, or toilet training;
(3) Pinching, shaking, or biting a child;
(4) Hitting a child with a hand or instrument;
(5) Putting anything in or on a child’s mouth;
(6) Humiliating, ridiculing, rejecting, or yelling at a child;
(7) Subjecting a child to harsh, abusive, or profane language;
(8) Placing a child in a locked or dark room, bathroom, or closet with the door closed; and
(9) Requiring a child to remain silent or inactive for inappropriately long periods of time for the child’s age.
